Mark Wahlberg is a patron of the Wounded Warrior Project, hence it is unlikely that the acclaimed actor gets paid for shooting commercials to promote it.
Wounded Warrior is an organization that was established to help veterans ingratiate back into society, with its purpose being noted as, “Every warrior has a next mission. We know that the transition to civilian life is a journey. And for every warrior, family member, and caregiver, that journey looks different. We are here for their first step, and each step that follows. Because we believe that every warrior should have a positive future to look forward to. There’s always another goal to achieve, another mission to discover. We are their partner in that mission.”
Therefore, considering that the project is a non-profit organisation, it is believed that anyone who works with the project does so on a voluntary basis.
Mark Wahlberg is one of the patrons of the organisation. The acclaimed actor has a longstanding relationship with the project and, in 2015, he was awarded the James Gandolfini Award for his advocacy and support of Wounded Warrior.
